FeONIC Honoured with CES Innovation Award
The Directors of FeONIC Plc (PLUS: FEO), the innovative UK audio technology
company, are pleased to announce that the Company's new Soundbug 2 has been
awarded a 2010 Design and Engineering Award in the Audio Accessories category
at the Consumer Electronics Show ("CES") in Las Vegas, USA.
The CES 2010 Innovations Design and Engineering Awards acknowledge the year's
most outstanding developments in engineering and design in consumer
electronics, the CES being the world's largest consumer electronics show.
Taking place annually since 1967, the show is sponsored, produced and managed
by the Consumer Electronics Association, the pre-eminent trade association
promoting growth in the consumer technology industry.
FeONIC launched the first Soundbug in 2002 as a small portable speaker device
for MP3 players, CD players and computers. When plugged into the headphone
jack, it converts electric signals into mechanical energy, causing surfaces to
vibrate and broadcast the sound as a loudspeaker.
The newly developed Soundbug 2, due to be officially launched in April 2010,
plays either in mono, or in true wireless stereo when used in pairs. It can
connect wirelessly to mobiles, MP3 players or PCs and is significantly smaller
in size and weight than the original Soundbug. When launched in April 2010, it
will be promoted under the banner "The smallest wireless stereo audio solution
that fits into your pocket".
